Well, it is done on paper.

Yes, it has been awhile since I have posted an update. Alot has been happening...well if you consider manual labor, fires, and moving lots of tree stumps as a lot happening, which we do. But I wasn't sure you wanted to be bothered with those details.

So, let's get to the fun stuff. First of all, our plans are done. Danny worked very hard to finalize all the details and everyone, including the furry four-legged children, is very happy. I tried to attach the pdf file so you could see it, but I can't figure that out and it is getting late, so I'll have to work on that later.

The one area we were concerned about layout and the work triangle (don't I sound technical?) was the kitchen. We knew we needed a professional to help make sure we got this room right. And, we knew who we wanted to work with, Kitchen Designs, but we didn't know if we'd have it in our budget. Well, thanks to the Riverfield Auction and our good friend Candace who alerted us about this item, we were able to get an $800 complete kitchen design for less than half of that. SCORE one for us. We went and met with Kitchen Designs' Roger Shollmier (the frugal kitchen guru as he likes to call himself). His personality was larger than life, but boy did he know his kitchen stuff. Suffice it to say, our kitchen is gonna rock and definitely be the hub of our party house. The focal point will be an island that will be approximately 7 feet wide and 11 feet long and will seat six and will have a pop-up TV if I get my way!

But, today is a BIG DAY! We closed on our construction loan today. This means we (well Danny)can really get started and we now have the money to actually build this house. This is gonna be fun. If Danny has his way, the dirt work guys will be starting Monday....stay tuned. Now we are hoping Mother Nature will cooperate with us.

So, you'll be hearing from me more often now since I am the official historian for this project. I needed a job related to the construction of Dolce Vita and this will be the best for me. Danny allready tells me I have "focus" issues when it comes to things like light switches, electrical outlets and concrete. And, he is right. I'd rather focus on fun things like pop-up TVs, swimming pools and ginormous kitchen islands.

I'll leave you with some recent pictures.
